Blackheath Yoga Studio Opening…

Following a few years travelling around the world teaching, and a short stint in North London, we are very happy to be settled and to be opening our new yoga studio in Blackheath at the end of October.  We’ve created a beautiful, light and restful space looking out onto the exquisite garden, and have been enjoying practicing and teaching yoga here in the morning and in the golden, dappled sunlight in the late afternoon and early evening…

We’ve been keen to make our space as comfortable, healthy and environmentally friendly place to be as possible.  Having looking into several heating options, we were very impressed with the benefits of infrared, not only from the point of view of the planet, but also to peoples health, and so decided to install some infrared panels to see our studio through the winter.  You can read more about the beneficial effects of infrared by clicking on ‘The Place’ in the Yoga Naturally menu.

In addition to this, we have installed some natural light bulbs and ionisers, to further bring the benefits of nature indoors, cleaning the air, and also to provide the beneficial effects of sunlight, giving a boost to our energy and mood, when daylight is lacking in the darker winter months.

The space is bright with light coloured walls and floor, catching the afternoon and evening sun.  We will use the daylight bulbs at times in the daytime classes, and perhaps during part of an early evening class.  The rest of the time the classes will be by soft lamps and candlelight.

Private classes have already begun, but we will be starting two new six week Foundation Courses in Dynamic Yoga in November on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, please read the section about “Course Content” for more information.  These classes can be done as a course, or on a drop in basis.  Annette will be teaching most of these classes.  And as for those who like to get up a bit earlier and make a wonderful start to the day, Sebastian will be teaching six weeks of early morning yoga classes on Wednesdays.

While having both trained in depth with the same yoga master Godfrey Devereux, Annette and Sebastian’s teaching styles vary slightly.   Both base there teaching firmly in the clarity of the Dynamic Yoga Method, and you will find that the styles will be complementary to each other.

We will be adding more classes, new courses and also longer weekend workshops soon, so please keep an eye out.  We wish you a warm welcome and look forward to seeing you and embarking on a wonderful yoga journey with you.

Annette
